Follow these steps to wear a saree:

1. Start by wearing a well-fitted blouse or choli. Ensure that the blouse complements the saree and fits properly.

2. Put on a petticoat, which is a long skirt-like garment worn underneath the saree. Make sure it matches the color of your saree or at least complements it. Tie the drawstring of the petticoat securely around your waist.

3. Tuck the plain end of the saree into the petticoat at the center and on the right side of your waist. Make sure the saree is loose, with about 6-8 inches of excess material extending beyond the edge of the petticoat.

4. Start making pleats at the plain end of the saree. Depending on the width of the pleats you desire, gather the fabric in equal widths and fold it into pleats, approximately 5-6 inches wide.

 5. After making the pleats, tuck them neatly into the waist of the petticoat, slightly to the left of the navel. Ensure that the pleats are evenly arranged and facing to the left.

 6. Take the remaining saree fabric (pallu) from the right side and bring it over your left shoulder. Drape it diagonally across your chest and let it fall behind you, hanging freely.

7. Hold the saree at the shoulder with a pin, ensuring it stays in place. You can use a decorative brooch or safety pin to secure it.

8. Adjust the length of the saree as needed by folding or pleating it on the left side and tuck it into the petticoat at the left side of your waist.

 9. Make sure the saree is evenly draped and there are no loose ends. Check that the pleats are neatly arranged, and the pallu falls gracefully.

 10. To complete the look, you can accessorize with traditional jewelry, such as earrings, bangles, a bindi, and a necklace. Style your hair as desired and apply makeup to enhance the overall appearance.

Remember, practice makes perfect, and with time and experience, you will become more confident in draping a saree.
