Drunk Elephant Products We Can’t Get Enough Of

Picks include the award-winning serum, eye cream, SPF, and whipped moisturizer

There is perhaps no greater success story in the world of skin care than the Drunk Elephant story. Founder and Chief Creative Officer Tiffany Masterson first started her journey when she was looking for another way to make money during the recession. She quickly realized how products can affect your skin, and after several years of preparation and research, Drunk Elephant was born.
It has quickly become one of mastige's fastest growing beauty brands, not to mention a woman-owned one that focuses on clean formulations. All products are free of what the brand considers the "suspect six:" silicones, essential oils, chemical sunscreens, SLS, alcohols and fragrances/colors, ingredients that can cause skin problems for many people, notes New York dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman who likes the brand. However, they take a slightly different approach, calling it "pure clinical" skincare and using both natural and synthetic ingredients with a focus on efficacy and what actually benefits your skin. Beauty editors and consumers alike quickly became obsessed, and the beauty industry took notice. It's a success story that depends largely on one thing: The products are really, really, really good.

See for yourself by treating your hands (and skin and hair) to Drunk Elephant's best products.

1. Luxury skin oil Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula
Luxury skin oil Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula

This is one of the first products DE launched. It's also the inspiration for the brand's catchy name (when African elephants eat fruit from marula trees, it actually looks like they're drunk). The skin-loving, completely pure, raw, cold-pressed oil is an excellent source of protective antioxidants,1 not to mention ultra-fast absorption. Case in point: One Byrdie editor claims it's her ultimate secret to ultra-radiant skin. Dr. Jaliman calls this product as well, praising it for being moisturizing yet lightweight and helping to fight free radical damage.

Price at time of publication: $57.80

Type: Oil | Benefits: Hydrating, youthful, skin brightness, texture

2. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial AHA + BHA mask

This is another must-try foundation. True to its name, the mask leaves your skin feeling soft. This is a two-step process; first comes a mask that offers a 25% concentration of various alpha-hydroxy acids plus 2% beta-hydroxy acids. Sounds intense, we know, especially if you have sensitive skin that freaks out at the mention of acid. But because it's formulated with the right pH and buffered with plenty of soothing ingredients, even a sensitive set can reap the smoothing and radiance-boosting benefits without any irritation. Step Two: The aforementioned marula oil for final hydration.

Price at time of publication: $79

Type: Exfoliating Mask | Benefits: Texture, skin brightness

3. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos glycolic night serum

Think of the Babyfacial as your weekly deep cleanse and this night serum as your daily cleanse. It also uses a combination of AHAs and BHAs for an effective yet gentle chemical exfoliation that can target almost all of your skin concerns, from dullness to dark spots (and everything in between). "AHAs and BHAs help to relax the skin, and this serum is a good way to achieve smoother, more even skin," says Jaliman, who also likes that it contains other soothing botanicals.

Price at time of publication: $62

Type: Serum | Benefits: Texture, skin brightness, anti-acne

4. Drunk Elephant Protini polypeptide cream

The 2019 Byrdie Skincare Award winner won Best Moisturizer for Dry Skin. One editor calls it "the moisturizer I recommend to everyone," thanks to its combination of peptides and proteins that improve the look and feel of your skin. It's also a must-have for Byrdie Associate Editorial Director, Holly Rhue, who credits it for solving her problems with dryness, breakage and aging. We also love that it comes in an airtight container with a pump, so you don't have to poke dirty fingers into the container.

Price at time of publication: $68

Type: Hydrating | Benefits: Hydrating, youthful, anti-acne

5. Drunk Elephant Protini Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum

If you love the above moisturizer, you need to get your hands on the brand's latest launch. Extra concentrated, it offers 11 (versus the cream's nine) signaling peptides, growth factors and amino acids for some serious youth-boosting effects. Notable: It is the first product of the brand where the superstar is lactic acid, specifically in a 10% concentration, which helps to improve the texture and tone of the skin.

Type: Hydrating | Benefits: Hydrating, youthful, anti-acne, texture
